Green Era in Energy!  

While the share of renewable energy is increasing day by day worldwide, we, as CK Energy Boğaziçi Electricity, attach importance to “Green Energy” in order to protect nature and future generations. 

We support our industrial and commercial customers who want to supply environmentally friendly electricity to obtain “Green Energy” and Renewable Energy Certificate (I-REC / International Renewable Energy Certificate).  

What is I-REC (International Renewable Energy Certificate)?  

Developed by RECs International, I-REC (International Renewable Energy Certificate) is an international certification system that certifies that electricity is generated from renewable energy sources. 

A certificate is issued for every 1 MWh of electricity generated in renewable energy facilities (solar, wind, hydroelectric, geothermal and biomass). 

Renewable Energy Certificates are widely used in developed countries to promote renewable energy investments and consumption. This system, which ensures that each unit of electricity generated is tracked starting from its source and traced to the end consumer, contributes to consumers making an informed and reliable choice. 

Generation facilities that fulfill certain requirements to become I-REC holders can obtain renewable energy certificates corresponding to their production by registering in the database created by I-REC, and electricity generation or sales companies can have the right to sell these certificates separately from electricity. 

CK Energy Boğaziçi Electricity, one of these companies, supports sustainability policies by undertaking I-REC certification procedures on behalf of its customers. 

What is RER-G (Renewable Energy Resource Guarantee System)?  RER-G is designed by EPİAŞ to track all processes of electricity generated from the producer to the consumer by utilizing blockchain technology.  The features of each 1 MWh of renewable energy supplied to the grid by licensed generation facilities, which are included in the system on a voluntary basis, are recorded and documented.  Through the RER-G Certificate, which is the “identity card” of renewable energy, it is tracked, proven and disclosed that the energy used by end consumers is produced from renewable energy sources. Thus, the supply of electricity generated from renewable energy sources is guaranteed for consumers.   With the RER-G System, producers can increase the use of renewable energy resources in electricity generation and consumption, and consumers can obtain information about the source of the energy they purchase while contributing to environmental protection.  With the RER-G System, every support you give to renewable energy generation is a valuable contribution to a sustainable future. 

Who Can Benefit?

Eligible consumers with an annual consumption of 1,100 kWh and above for 2022 and 1,000 kWh and above for 2023 can apply.

CK Boğaziçi Elektrik Renewable Energy Ratio

Article 38 of the Electricity Market Consumer Services Regulation titled Obligations of Suppliers states;

(2) Suppliers are obliged to provide information on their websites regarding purchases from renewable energy sources within their sales for the previous year for low-consumption free consumers, non-free consumers and consumers within the scope of last resource supply.

In this context, the renewable energy rate in our company's sales for 2023 has been determined as 43.78%.
